National Theatre Connections is an annual celebration of new theatre for, by and with young people. Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new scripts for young people, written by some of the UK’s best playwrights.
Hundreds of school and youth theatre groups up and down the country take part –
transferring their play from their own school hall or theatre to a professional theatre as part of the process.
Every year The North Wall is one of the host venues, welcoming young companies from across Oxfordshire and beyond. Sadly, we had to cancel the festival in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic – but in 2021, we welcomed six young theatre companies to stage their shows for the first time in the theatre.
