Bluebeard’s Castle

Our first ever ArtsLab residency focusing on opera took place in summer 2016. Olivier award-winning OperaUpClose led a group of young singers, dancers, designers and musicians to workshop a genuinely frightening and suspenseful version of Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle – combining opera with elements of the horror film genre, re-invented so that it interacts excitingly with audiences in small theatre spaces.
