Catalyst is the cornerstone of our commitment to new writing for the theatre. This residential project offers in-depth professional development to young writers and directors aged 18-25.
To those selected, we offer the chance to work with a team of professional actors, and highly experienced writing and directing mentors in a safe and supportive space, to develop and showcase new scripts. Places are strictly limited, and the work will be intensive, challenging and exciting.
Participation is free of charge, and full board and lodging is provided.
Catalyst 2019 took place from Monday 1 April – Friday 12 April 2019 and six writers and three directors took part. Writers were mentored by Tom Brennan and Sam Potter and directors by Ria Parry and John Hoggarth.
Extracts from the following plays were performed on Friday 6 April:
We Have Sinned by Tife Kusoro
Tendons by Karim Khan
A Fear of Unexplained Light by Ava Wong Davies
Uninhabitable by Harriet Wynder
