School for Wise Children:
Creating Ensemble Musical Theatre
Friday 4 October 12pm – 7pm
Wise Children creates landmark work with exceptional artists, discovers the creative spaces of the future and their School for Wise Children trains the next generation of creative practitioners. Wise Children are back at Oxford Playhouse this October with Malory Towers and are teaming up with Oxford Playhouse and The North Wall to offer an afternoon workshop: The School for Wise Children Taster Session.
Imagine humour, mayhem, music and a little bit of magic and you will start to understand the Wise Children method of creating theatre. We’re working in partnership with The School for Wise Children to offer you the chance to experience and explore the Wise Children way of working.
On Friday 4 October from 12pm-7pm, participants will work with the Associate Director and Performer Stephanie Hockley from Malory Towers to create a scene. Actors, singers, musicians and theatre-makers are invited to apply: you don’t need any previous experience, but you do need to be a confident performer.
The School for Wise Children is searching for emerging performers and theatre-makers who will benefit the most from their courses. They’ve put together some questions to help them get to know you – you don’t need to write a lot, just give a little snapshot of your talent! They are also actively looking for performers from diverse backgrounds, who are differently abled and who may not be able to afford traditional training. If this is you please let them know in the ‘tell us more’ section.
For anyone aged 18+
To apply, fill in this application form by Fri 20 September.
Applicants will be informed about whether they have a place w/c 23 September.
The workshop will take place at Oxford Playhouse.
