Emily Hoyle invites visitors for a talk about her first solo exhibition The Chapel and will also give a tour of selected pieces in the show.
Emily is a British multidisciplinary artist specialising in painting, drawing and sculpture. She enjoys integrating Classical aesthetics and techniques into the contemporary moment, honouring common human experiences across varying time and place. Emily draws inspiration for her subject matter across the disciplines of history, literature, music and psychology.
Emily graduated from Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford, in 2024. She is The North Wall’s ArtsLab visual artist 2025. Through the ArtsLab programme each year The North Wall supports a talented, early career artist to stage an exhibition in the gallery. Emily’s work is held in private collections in the UK, USA and New Zealand.
More about Emily
A childhood spent on the rural Warwickshire-Oxfordshire border greatly influenced Emily’s work. Working and living alongside animals led her to consider deeply the ancient partnership between people and livestock. Animals regularly appear as symbols across her artistic practice. Alongside her practice as an artist, Emily enjoys tutoring and mentoring young artists, helping them to fulfil their creative and academic potential.
