This sumptuous and sprawling family saga is a stage adaptation of the legendary film-maker Ingmar Bergman’s masterpiece.
Siblings Fanny and Alexander are growing up amidst the gilded romance and glamour of 1900s Sweden. However, their world is turned upside down when their widowed mother remarries the iron-willed local bishop. A war ensues between imagination and austerity in this study of childhood, family, and love.
Fanny & Alexander will be performed by a company of 19 actors. This is a great opportunity to see the talent emerging from Oxford School of Drama, one of the UK’s top drama schools. Graduates of this course include the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner Claire Foy (The Crown, All of Us Strangers), Lizzie Annis, (The House of Bernarda Alba at the National Theatre and The Glass Menagerie in the West End) and Laurence Ubong Williams (The Motive and the Cue at the National Theatre and West End).
