Oxford Printmakers Co-operative (OPC) returns to The North Wall this Christmas with a colourful array of current members’ work. OPC was formed in 1977 as an open access Fine Art Print workshop.
It is known for the high standard of its printmaking facilities and many of Oxford’s established printmakers have made work, taught or exhibited there. The North Wall has had the pleasure of showing prints by OPC members since the arts centre opened in 2007.
The gallery will show framed works by many of the members and, in addition, there will be a huge range of unframed works to buy – just in time for Christmas!

Artist Talk

Printmaker Lizzie Wheeler will be talking about the development of her own practice; from exploring a variety of printmaking techniques, to discovering what she wants to say with her work. She will also discuss works by other printmakers in the show, explaining how they were made, and showing the plates and tools used to make them.
Lizzie studied visual communications at Bath Spa university, after an art foundation at Oxford Brookes. She is a full-time print-maker, and technician at the Oxford Printmakers Co-operative, and also runs printmaking workshops from her home studio. Lizzie is a multi-award winning member of the Oxford Art Society, and was selected as Henley festivals RISE artist in 2022. She specialises in relief printing, enjoying the process of stylisation that it requires. Her inspiration comes from the natural world, the creatures who inhabit it, and a need to communicate the beauty and importance of wild places. Her work is represented by the Jenna Burlingham gallery.
